About me

I have been working in the field of rural development on the topics of food security, natural resource management and agricultural value chain development for the past ten years.

During my four years in Peru and Burundi, I was involved in project management and supported various organizations (civil society organisations, government agencies, farmers' organizations, etc) in the steps of the project cycle management (from defining strategy and developing proposal, to reporting to various users and evaluating results and impact).

In Ghana for two years and since 2009 in The Netherlands,I focus on planning, monitoring and evaluation (PM & E) as well as on multi-stakeholders processes. I have advised and continue to support clients and partners in their critical reflection on interventions, in the review of their M & E systems to reflect on their strategy and to focus on the results to be achieved, in the development of M & E systems focused on results and in the evaluation of the results of their interventions.

Currently staff of the Centre for Development Innovation, Wageningen UR,  I am involved in the joint MFS II country evaluation for the aspects ‘assessment of capacity development of Southern partner organisations’ and  ‘assessment of efforts to strengthen civil society’. This evaluation should serve both accountability and learning purposes.

Because the M&E capacity of sub-Saharan francophone countries is lacking but essential to the improvement of interventions and policies for good governance and poverty alleviation, I co-facilitate with the Institut Supérieur des Sciences de la Population (ISSP) of the University of Ouagadougou and the African Evaluation association (AfrEA) a 2-week course on participatory planning, monitoring and evaluation - managing for impact.

Finally, and more generally, I want to provide support to (development) organizations in better assessing the performance of their actions and in considering the effects and impact of implemented interventions in the design of future programs. Doing so, I want to ensure that the views of the various stakeholders involved are considered in monitoring and evaluating actions.
